Privacy Policy

Overview

Whereabouts Psychology is a local-first informational self-assessment app for adults. The app does not require an account and does not operate an app database that receives your assessment answers, drafts, completed results, History, or Profile data.

Some features let you deliberately move information outside the app. This policy explains those choices and the point at which another service, recipient, or device feature controls a copy.

Information stored on your device

The app stores incomplete assessment drafts, individual answers, completed results, completion dates, assessment versions, History and Profile information, and preferences such as appearance, reduced motion, onboarding status, and the app-switcher privacy setting in local app storage.

Completed results contain the answers needed to display, report, or optionally share that result. There is no automatic expiration period. Local information remains until you delete a result, clear local app data, complete or discard a draft, or remove the app, subject to device backups and operating-system behavior outside the app’s control.

Compare with someone

You choose which results to place in a comparison package. Packages exclude questionnaire answers and are not public profiles or account records. They can include assessment names, completion dates, scale versions, scores, classifications, explanatory text, and scale ranges.

Imported comparison packages and generated comparisons are held temporarily in app memory and can be deleted in the Compare flow; closing or reloading the app clears that in-memory data. Copies placed on the clipboard or shared as files may remain with the operating system, a recipient, or another app.

Reports, clipboard, and sharing

Reports are generated locally from results you select. Temporary report files are placed in app cache and are removed on completion or by later cleanup where possible. You control whether to save, email, or share a report using device features.

When you copy, export, email, save, or share information, the operating system, clipboard manager, mail provider, receiving app, recipient, or storage location may keep a copy under its own policies. Whereabouts cannot retrieve or delete copies outside the app.

Ask Naama

Ask Naama opens https://naamachat.com in a browser. Opening this link does not prepare, copy, share, or send your assessment answers, results, or reports.

Naama is an external website governed by its own terms and privacy policy. Information you choose to enter there is handled by that service, not Whereabouts.

Support email

The Contact Support action opens a user-controlled email draft addressed to support@whereaboutspsychology.com, or copies that address if a composer is unavailable. The prefilled draft does not include assessment answers, results, reports, comparison data, Naama data, or device identifiers.

Anything you add and send is processed by your mail provider and the support mailbox. Do not include sensitive assessment information unless you intentionally want it included in your message.

Network and third-party services

The current app has no account, advertising, behavioral analytics, or server endpoint for collecting assessment data. User-triggered features may hand content to device clipboard, browser, mail, file, and share services.

App stores, operating systems, device backups, crash diagnostics enabled by your device, and network providers may process technical information independently of Whereabouts. Their practices are controlled by their own settings and policies.

App-switcher privacy screen and security

When enabled, the app-switcher privacy screen replaces the app’s recent-app preview while Whereabouts is inactive or in the background. It does not encrypt local storage, prevent screenshots while the app is active, clear the clipboard, control notifications or backups, or protect copies you export.

No software or device storage is risk-free. Protect access to your device, review recipients before sharing, and delete local or exported copies you no longer need.

Your controls

You can delete individual completed results, discard drafts, delete imported comparison data, and use Clear local app data in Settings to remove app-managed results, drafts, report cache, and preferences. Clearing app data cannot remove material already copied, exported, emailed, shared, backed up, or provided to an external service.

Adults only

Whereabouts is intended for people age 18 or older. The app does not create accounts or collect birth dates and does not technically verify age.
